Best for: businesses getting their foundations in place
Everything in CE, plus independent hands-on testing of your controls. The strongest tier for businesses supplying enterprise clients or bidding for public sector contracts.
Best for: tenders, enterprise supply chains
The NCSC and GOV.UK is calling on organisations to improve Cyber Essentials adoption across their supply chains. If you supply to larger businesses or public sector clients, certification is increasingly something they’ll ask for and CE Plus puts you in the strongest position when they do. If you have recently the signed the Cyber Resilience Pledge one of the actions you will need to take is adopting Cyber Essentials across your supply chain.

A simple self-assessment covering both CE and CE Plus. No technical knowledge required. Bring it to your welcome call and we’ll walk through it with you.
We recommend downloading the question set in advance and preparing your answers before applying. This helps avoid delays.
Once we receive your email address and mobile number for MFA, login details for the assessment portal will be sent. You will have 6 months to complete your assessment before the account is deleted.
If answers are prepared in advance, completing the self-assessment may take around 1 hour. An Assessor will review your submission within 1–2 working days. If any answers are not compliant, guidance will be provided and you may resubmit.

Important: If unsupported software is in scope, certification cannot be awarded.
Yes. For example, any company using unsupported software within the scope of the assessment will automatically fail to achieve certification.
Cyber Essentials is an annually renewable certification.
Both Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certificates expire after 12 months.
IASME remove companies from their ‘certified organisations’ list if they have not been certified within the past year.
