We are co-founders of a Community Interest Company (CIC) called Cyber House Party which was formed in 2020 with the aim of bringing the online Cyber Community together during the pandemic for informative conversation and entertainment. As well as leading keynote speakers and industry DJ’s, we encouraged conversation around diversity, mental health and resolving the skills gap.
We have helped raise funds for worthy charities such as Childline, Age UK, International Committee of the Red Cross, Mind and Crisis.
We continue to encourage our staff to be involved and allow them to make time in their diaries accordingly.
We are proud to actively support WiCyS UK&I, a not-for-profit organisation headquartered in the US, dedicated to attracting, advancing, and retaining women in cybersecurity globally. Our commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) aligns perfectly with the mission of WiCyS. We believe in fostering an inclusive environment where women in cybersecurity can thrive and lead.
Our People & Culture Manager, Natasha, currently serves on the WiCyS Board as a Chief Advisor. Through her leadership and our collective efforts, we strive to break down barriers and create opportunities for women to excel in the industry. By supporting WiCyS, we are not only contributing to the professional growth of women in cybersecurity but also strengthening the industry’s overall diversity and innovation.
A number of our team have volunteered to speak with Key Stage 2 pupils to support conversations around GCSE subject and career choices and offer insights into the way in which you can eventually move into a Cyber Security career.
We have offered industry work placements to university students because we recognise the importance of having operational experience on your CV.
These individuals have gained crucial stakeholder, social and subject matter skills which will stand them in good stead for future career opportunities.
Several of our staff are voluntary mentors including for those students progressing through the CAPSLOCK training scheme which is funded by the UK Government and provides an opportunity for any person to upskill into the Cyber security industry with no prior knowledge.
This mentorship provides value for the individuals being mentored as well as the personal development of our staff. Our volunteers have coached several individuals into their first Cyber security roles.
